Are you aware of the average price of family night out to an NBA game, and why you won’t pay it after the lockout.

When going out to an NBA game, a family of four can easily spend well over $200 at the game alone, not including the cost of their seats. From sodas, foam fingers at the gift shop, t shirts, food, and all other souvenirs bought at a game, you will not walk out for less than this amount. But, since the NBA lockout, many of the players have begun to go overseas, have signed contract deals to play with these teams, and will not be in the NBA this season, even if the lockout does come to an end, and the season starts up.

So, with many of the NBA’s biggest allpro stars, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Tony Parker, and several others, signing to play overseas, fans are not going to be willing to come to the arena, and watch games without these star athletes on the floor. Plus, with the lockout taking place, everything is bound to go up in price when the season does eventually start up, if it does, in order to compensate for the lost revenues they would have been taking in at pre season and early season exhibition games. So, not only are fans going to be looking at higher prices for tickets, and not getting to see the stars they want to watch on the court, but food, drinks, and souveneirs are also going to increase at the arena.

Additionally, parking will likely go up in prices, as will all other costs a fan incurs when going to a game. Since many arenas and owners are trying to make up for the millions lost during the missed games, they are going to take it out on the fans by increasing the cost of everything. So, if it wasn’t already expensive enough to go to a game, now fans are going to bite the bullet, and see the increases in costs if they still decide to go to games, if the lockout does come to an end. Plus, some of the NBA’s greatest players will not even be playing on the court, so fans are going to miss out on the action they are looking for as well.

So, whether or not the season will start up, or take place at all in the 2011 – 2012 season is yet to be seen. But, for fans who are going to be attending games, you can expect to miss out on some big names that are not going to be on the court, as they have already signed to play in an overseas league, and you can expect to see an increase in the costs of everything at the arena, from parking, to buying a soda and hot dog.

While the Spurs might not be finding it so hard to make up for Tim Duncan’s offensive stats, his leadership seems to be very much missed.
The Spurs ( 57 – 15 ) still have a 5 game advantage over the Lakers for the finest record within the West, however they have to be worried after losing leads during the final period to drop back to back contests for the 2nd occasion this year. The loss came 2 evenings following the Spurs had a 7 point advantage within the 4th versus the Nuggets prior to dropping the game 115 – 112.

Both defeats have arrived since the Spurs have Duncan resting on the bench indefinitely to heal a sprained left ankle he endured versus the Warriors on Monday.
points the previous 3 matchups. Tiago Splitter started in Duncan’s spot once again Friday & got eleven points & 7 boards, not far off the mark from the All Star forward’s numbers. With Duncan skipping Sunday’s matchup, it will be the 2nd consecutive trip to play the Grizzlies that the Spurs are making beat-up. Tony Parker rested on the sidelines during a 109 – 93 defeat to the Grizzlies on March 1st. The Spurs additionally had difficulties with turn-overs in that matchup, giving up 22.

The last occasion the Spurs dropped straight contests were January 4th & 5th, however they answered by picking up their following 8. They have not lost 3 consecutive since January 20th to 25th, 2010. The Spurs, who have won 2 of 3 versus the Grizzlies, might encounter 8th place Memphis ( 40 – 33 ) during the 1st round of the post-season.

The Grizzlies had their 3 game winning run broken by a 99 – 96 defeat at the United Center vs. the Bulls on Friday. Mike Conley bricked a three point shot as the clock ran out. The Grizzlies have kept their past 3 competitors to an average of 83.3 points. The defeat came hours following the club found out Rudy Gay, on the sidelines since February 15th, will undergo year – ending surgery to fix his partially dislocated left shoulder. The Grizzlies are 9 – 7 since he got injured. While he has combined for only thirteen boards during the previous 2 matchups, Zach Randolph, putting in 12.4 points, had twenty-five points & twenty rebounds during the victory against the Spurs the previous month.

The Grizzlies, who play 6 of their following 7 matchups on their home court, have a 1.5 game advantage over 9th – place Rockets.

I can’t believe it, the Los Angeles Lakers have lost. And he just started the current road trip.

Clearly Orlando Magic have been better this time. Winning 89 to 75 would Los Angeles is a major thing. I believe Paul Castle has something to explain now. I mean he is a player that is capable of doing much better if hockey game last night. I’m not even DAT he just blew it off, he didn’t seem to be interested in playing at all. Which, given the state at this current contract is quite understandable. The further but lets get back to the game. Howard scored 31 points and 19 of that happened in the second half. Okay the first one must have been really boring though.

After living in Orlando were cheering. I’m not surprised they have just didn’t want the best teams in the NBA. And in a press conference after the game in the community stated that they wanted to prove to themselves that they are able to do it. Now they know they can.

But the worst thing to me was that they didn’t seem to be worried about it at all. It is as if they didn’t care that they have just lost to one of the medic ore the ams and that they are one of the best in the Association.

Does it mean something? I don’t know. I hope it doesn’t but it might as well be that they no longer care about their position and that soon we will see a lot of players being traded off to other teams, or retiring (although I can’t see that happening to be honest).

Now, that was a tie game, don’t you agree? And it is rare that you would see two teams playing so close together. I mean, look at the score, one point difference! C’mon, you don’t see that very often in basketball!

And what’s even better, the game was a massive comeback for the Hornets. The New Orleans team wasn’t performing their best recently but last nights heroic game by Chris Paul and Marcus Thornton, amongst others, definitely had made their coach, Monty Williams to rethink what he feels about his teams future.

And yes, I think his thoughts were not of a happy camper. With the teams recent performance he definitely needed a comeback like this to shut the mouth of everyone who might have had putting dark thoughts into his head.

And it is best illustrated in his post game interview, and especially one particular sentence he said. He mentioned that in situations like this all you can do is to thank the Lord and go on play some more.

And so they did.

New Orleans Hornets have officially beaten Memphis Grizzlies 103-102. An almost a tie game! Well, in fact it was and it was in the overtime that Chris Paul’s 3 pointer had saved his team and extended their winning streak to 6 games.

Now they are facing a tough challenge following up on the game. They didn’t have it easy throughout the entire game and seemed to have been saved by the 3 pointer only. Now they need to shape up and make sure that any other game they are going to play from now on is not going to be a close tie. They really have to push themselves forward in order to keep their winning streak going.

The Miami Heat have a great talent to making you feel that Basketball is ridiculously easy, and they do it in style. But this time the game turned more physical on them demanding more. But also, showing more of their skill.

With 34 points by Dwayne Wade, 25 from LeBron James (not to mention his 9 assists) Miami were able to defeat the Bucks 101 to 89 in their nineteenth victory in twenty games they played!

It was obvious from watching the game that they usually enjoy a different, more relaxed type of a game, however, they have also shown that they can perform well under pressure.

Other points for the victors were scored by Chris Bosh (19 and 12 rebounds), notable in the game how he got his wings in the last quarter not doing anything special during the initial three.

Tuesdays game was the last time for another 14 days that Miami played at their home pitch. Now it’s time for them to see what is going to happen to their 11 victories away when they play Milwaukee this Friday.

Wade, speaking on behalf of his team mentioned his teams feelings towards their forthcoming opponent. The team knows that Milwaukee has beaten up some really good teams already, they may not be as big as Miami but certainly can show up a great attitude when needed.

Naturally, and as mentioned by Wade too, the Bucks are not the greatest team and certainly have played many games they would like to soon forget, fouling Wade two times would probably be one of the things they will regret when the two teams meet again.

Or that time when Skles tried to get the referees attention and collided “as if by accident” with Arroyo, the Heats guard, which only earn him his second technical and not an ejection from the pitch, lucky for him.

Wade’s opponents come to their game with the Bucks with 5-11 in their away games but as I already mentioned, some of those victories suggest that they can do a good game.

It is not a secret that NBA stars make millions. Their contracts, also other ventures as players make them millionaires by the midst of their career. However, their careers span is also quite short and many decide to invest a lot of their income into side businesses in order to protect their income once their careers are over.

Let’s face it, the lifestyle they live as players demands capital and it is a known thing that more than half of the players lose all their money only few years after retiring from the professional play. Many do nothing about it, however a small group of players build side businesses and thus protects their post-career income. Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson, who both build successful ventures outside of their sports careers, seem to be the inspiration to many.

One of the good examples of current NBA stars running a side business is Lebron James. Back in 2006 he created a marketing company called LRMR Marketing and has already signed some big names to his books. One of the first clients he managed to win was Ten Ginn, a colleague sportsman from the 49ers from San Francisco.

Another star taking a leap into the business world is Steve Nash, a player with two NBA Most Valuable Player Awards. Only recently he formed a capital venture company Consigliere that intends to invest money in startups and help them off the ground. But that’s not all, he also owns a line of fitness clubs, a film production company and a vitamin product label let alone his social media endavours with Apoko.

Another NBA player involved in the film industry is Baron Davis. He owns a film production company called Too Easy Entertainment and works with some top class writers on his productions. Apart from his ventures into film industry he also owns Chameleon, a music production firm.

But not all players venture into the world of entertainment. Anthony Johnson, a player with a degree in administration runs a business designing and producing stained glass doors.

The Bobcats came back from a terrible 4th quarter effort during their previous matchup. The 76ers weren’t as lucky after their own late breakdown.

Trying for their 1st straight victories during more than 3 weeks, Charlotte go for their 4th consecutive win against Philadelphia on Saturday evening in The Wachovia Center.

Winning by 7 having 1:23 remaining in regular time Friday, Charlotte (7 – 12) very much needed extra time to defeat the Nets 91 – 84 on their home floor.

returning from a 1 game suspension for crossing the line with the officials during a 104 – 101 defeat at the Bucks the previous Saturday, Stephen Jackson put in a club best twenty-five & nailed 4 from the stripe in the last minute of extra time to assist The Bobcats prevent a high for the year , tying 3rd consecutive loss .

Bobcats coach Larry Brown is going to take the victory, the 1,096th of his career, however the 70 year old Hall of Famer was not excited to see 2 clubs put up a combined 33.9 % committing 36 turn-overs 22 coming from his aateam.

Leading his club to the 76ers, where he coached from 1997 to 2003, Brown will attempt to assist Charlotte break a 4 game away from home losing skid.

The Eastern Conference last in the League 76ers (5 – 14) had been good on their way to a best for the year 3rd consecutive win Friday in Atlanta, however coach Doug Collins’ club had only 1 field goal during the last 8:45 & were out-scored 21 – 3 to finish a 93 – 88 defeat .

While Philadelphia have lost 8 consecutive away from home, they will attempt to pick up a victory their 4th straight at Wells Fargo Center to being a 4 game home-stand.

The 76ers’s previous 4 – 0 streak on their home floor had been March 11th to 25th 2009.

Philadelphia they had been losing by as many as twenty-nine points in Charlotte’ the previous trip, a 102 – 87 Bobcats win March 10th.

Gerald Wallace had been leading Charlotte sinking twenty-eight points in that game as Jackson put in twenty-four grabbing ten boards.

Stephen Jackson will probably be matched up with second year guard Jodie Meeks of the 76ers, who made 1st career start Friday in place of number 2 all-round pick Evan Turner.

76ers best scorer Elton Brand, who got sixteen points and a best for the year 14 rebounds Friday, put in 15.0 & 10.0 the previous year as these clubs split 2 games Wachovia Center .

The Bobcats has picked up 6 of 8 against Philadelphia all-round since Brown took over in 2008 – 2009.

Michael Jordan, previous North Carolina Tar Heel as well as Chicago Bull, could well be the very best basketballer ever. He originated from simple background and went up to the leading position through working hard and also commitment.

He was born in Brooklyn in 1963.. Nearly right after his delivery his parents relocated to Wilmington, exactly where he discovered his enthusiasm for basketball. He frequently played against his sibling, Larry, and often and this is actually quite funny, lost. Nevertheless, this particular thing motivated his aggressive push, leading to exercise tougher as well as enhance abilities.

Jordan went to Laney Senior High School in Wilmington. An seldom spoken paradox would be the fact that he had been break from his senior high school basketball group. He would be a final year student and his trainer pushed him away from the college group, it seems that he simply didn’t realize what sort of player Jordan was (or was about to become). In any way the coach failed to see his potential back then.. Jordan, not managing that failure of being cut off well turned his emotions into new found determination to practice even more what eventually got him back into his team and to a state championship.

Jordan studiend at the University of North Carolina, where he is most remembered for hitting the game winning shot in 1982 Championships. It is worth to note how much his game improved during his college years (which resulted in winning a national player of the year award). His game improved during his years in college culminating in National Player of the Year honors his junior year.

Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls i 1984, a major change for him. In his first year alone he averaged nearly 30 points per game and won the Rookie of the Year award which also led him to be included in the All-Star team..

Evenutally retiring from the Bulls Jordan went on to serve as a president of the Washington Wizards. It is also worth to note that he was a part owner of the team too. He stayed with the Wizards till 2003 and his time as the teams leader was heavily criticized (mainly for the decisions he made). 3 years after leaving the Wizards he went on to Charlotte Bobcats as a part owner too and was again put in charge. He is now known for not doing much in his new role however he occasionally attends team practice sessions.
